Pizza Punks
Pizza Punks is a restaurant based in the City Centre of Glasgow, on St Vincent Street, and is one of three stores across the UK. Pizza Punks is based on a concept which gives the ‘power to the people’. This means customers can choose exactly what they want on their pizza, and not be charged more. In addition to this, they also have bake at home kits for those who would prefer freshly prepared pizza from the comfort of their own home instead of eating out.
Interior
The interior of Pizza Punks was filled with red neon signs with song lyrics from different rock/punk bands which can relate to pizza, such as “love will tear us a part again.” Not only is this aesthetically pleasing but it is very clever and matches the theme of the restaurant. The brand logo was also used all throughout the restaurant, in their signs, merch, staff uniform, and even on the pizzas, drawn on with sauce. I thought this was very creative and smart, as it is not common for restaurants to promote their brand on their food.
Food
Pizza Punks have a great selection of pizzas on their menu to choose from and a range of tasty side dishes. I decided to get the Cheeseburger Pizza without pickles, and I can positively say that it was delicious and exceeded my expectations. The dough was soft and cooked to perfection, and the range of toppings combined made it taste exactly like a cheeseburger, perhaps even better. I can be quite fussy when it comes to toppings on Pizza, so I admired the fact they give you option to customise based on your preferences, even though I chose an already existing option. They also have Vegan, Halal and Gluten free options, so are also able to cater for different dietary requirements.
Price
I would say the food is reasonably priced with most pizzas being £10 or less, and of course if you share one it’ll be even cheaper. The sides are more on the expensive side with most costing around £6, but I would say they are worth it if you like me and are a big eater. The cocktails are perhaps the only thing I wouldn’t pay for, due them costing £7.50 each, it would probably be cheaper going elsewhere afterwards for drinks.
I would highly recommend this restaurant to any Pizza lovers out there!
